PROUD SPONSORS OF GAI EDUCATION AWARDS 2019

Lorient an ASSA ABLOY Group brand was delighted to co-sponsor this year’s prestigious Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) Education Awards; alongside leading door hardware brands Excel and Exidor.

On Thursday 7th November, celebrations were held at the Royal Lancaster in London to honour the achievements of the rising stars of the door hardware industry at the GAI Education Awards. It’s the largest and most important event in the architectural ironmongery calendar; and 2019 heralded the award’s 40th anniversary with record breaking attendance of over 400 guests.

The Education Awards reflects the importance of the GAI’s education syllabus as the only recognised programme in the world to deliver architectural ironmongery qualifications to British and European standards.

As the global leader in access solutions, ASSA ABLOY was proud to sponsor the event and celebrate the hard work of professionals who have achieved a GAI qualification.  Since 1980, the GAI Education Awards have included Gold, Silver and Bronze medal awards for the top students in the GAI Diploma and prize awards for the top three students in the Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

The highlight of the day came when the Diploma certificates were issued and four of the most coveted prizes were awarded to our ASSA ABLOY colleagues. An outstanding accomplishment and huge congratulations must go to:

  • Bala Vignesh, ASSA ABLOY Middle East who won a Gold medal and the Pinnacle award for the best overall result over 3 years of study.
  • Craig Birch, ASSA ABLOY UK won the Silver medal.
  • Lisa O Flynn, ABLOY UK and Russell Richards ASSA ABLOY UK who successfully completed their Diploma.

In addition, Andrew Marshall, ASSA ABLOY New Zealand won 1st prize for the certificate in architectural hardware.
